A minimum of four and a maximum of eight Freshman age teams of 15-16 year-old players could play a four-round schedule of games and play-offs in July, August and September of 2018 using the two existing Brooklyn District Baseball Leagues. For organizational reasons eight of the eighteen Brooklyn Community Districts have been selected as the homes for these B-Freshman district teams this summer.

This pro forma short season schedule for B-Freshman age teams is part of the plan to organize and field between 12 and 18 district team in full season "open" or BBB (triple-B) leagues next year. In all of this district baseball, the players are not responsible for paying umpires or fixing fields. The related commitment to B-Freshment players and teams is that district schedules for B-Freshman will be organized so that all players and teams will have the opportunity to continue to play next year and beyond. It was this commitment to continued play that led to the development of the BBB-Leagues in 1998 through 2003.

SCHEDULE DETAIL (for all eight teams in play)

Round 1, Opening Games (7 games/team - weeks #1 and #2): each team plays each other team once.

Round 2, League Play (9 games/team - weeks #3 and #4): each team plays a three-game home-and-away series with each of the other three teams in its league.

Round 3, Inter-League Play (12 games/team - weeks #5, #6, and #7): each team plays a three-game home-and-away series with each of the four teams in the other league.

Round 4, League Pennant Races (9 games/team - weeks #8 and #9): each team plays a final three-game home-and-away series with each of the other three teams in its league.

League Series, Post-Season Championships (3 games/team - weeks #10 and #11): the final standings in each league are used to set the match-ups in a twelve-game Brooklyn Championship Series between Atlantic League Teams and Bedford League teams: the two 1st-place teams play three games with each other, the two 2nd-place teams play three games with each other, the two 3rd-place teams play three games with each other, and the two 4th-place teams play three games with each other. In addition to winners of individual series, the results are totaled for all teams in each league to determine the "Best League" (best-of-twelve).

Teams do not need to start all at the same time. There is ample schedule time avaiable for make-up games. This schedule also works for six teams and for four teams.
