Brooklyn's smallest (by area) Community District, #9, Crown Heights, looks south from the center of Brooklyn along a hillside topped by Eastern Parkway. Its 12-block long Crown Street extends from the west end of the district at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens to the east end at Lincoln Terrace Park. Now home to international black, Carribean, and Jewish cultures, Crown Heights will always be the residence of Brooklyn's most famous ghost: Ebbets Field, the long gone half-century home of the Brooklyn Dodgers National League baseball team. |
